Summer Training/Fall Racing

As I type this (long overdue) blog post, my husband is painting one of our upstairs guest rooms a pale pink in preparation for moving our baby girl upstairs. This means we can transform the nursery next to our bedroom into an office. Which, hopefully, means I’ll be doing a lot more writing!

In addition to renovations and writing, I’ll also be doing a lot of running this summer. A LOT. I’m signed up for three fall/winter marathons: Freakin’ Fast in Idaho, Peak to Creek in North Carolina, and St. Jude Marathon in Tennessee. Running in the summer is tough, but I’m prepared to wake up as early as I need to in order to get my important training runs in before the temperature is overwhelming.

I’m also excited to participate in Race 13.1’s half marathon here in Little Rock on Oct. 8. It’ll be my third year running this event, and I hope to be in a place where I can be a pacer this year. The course is fast and flat, and begins and ends at the Clinton Presidential Center in downtown Little Rock.

I also have the opportunity to be a brand ambassador for this year’s event, and I have a special discount code for 15% off the registration fee! Here’s the link: https://race131.com/races/race-13-1-little-rock-ar/register and my coupon code is: BAAF131 for 15% off. I hope you’ll sign up!

I’ve got to get back to painting if we’re ever going to move this little girl upstairs. Enjoy your holiday weekend and I hope you get a few good runs in!
