Starting a blog has been on my mind since my husband and I moved to the family goldfish farm in December 2015. I thought the move out of the city, which coincided with the birth of our daughter, would bring a lot of downtime. I imagined I’d have countless hours to spend writing about all of the exciting new life changes we were experiencing. In reality, five months have passed and I’m just beginning.
It’s not that I’m overwhelmed, or that motherhood is harder than I imagined. It’s not easy, but the transition is quick and you have to adapt. I don’t have big dreams for my blog. I just want a place to tell the stories behind the pictures I post on social media. To give a little bit more than a glimpse into this new life. Posts won’t be lengthy or wordy, nor will they offer any particular value other than creating a way for me to deal with this new feeling of isolation. That sounds dramatic, but when you spend most of your time with a tiny human who can’t talk to you, you get lonely.
This blog will detail the triumphs and trials that come with this new life. I hope you find something you can relate to or something you enjoy in the words that will follow.
